Hypnosis, also referred to as hypnotherapy or hypnotic suggestion, is a trance-like state in which the client has heightened focus and concentration. The hypnosis practitioner uses repetition and mental images to help the client reach a state of deep relaxation. While under hypnosis, the person’s conscious mind becomes quiet, allowing access to the highly suggestible subconscious mind. Hypnosis can be used to help gain control over undesired behaviors or to help cope better with anxiety or pain. Michelle Matteson holds certifications in hypnosis with the International Medical and Dental Hypnotherapy Association and the National Guild of Hypnotists, specializing in Hypno-Birthing, Hypno-Tapping and Waking Hypnosis for eliminating unwanted lifestyle habits, thoughts and behaviors.
